Earn Gems during a crossing

The October beginner guides identify arena pickups and end-of-match performance rewards as separate Gem sources. Radex Tips’ currency walkthrough recommends collecting pickups already near your crossing route rather than travelling across the field for every one.

  1. As a Runner, identify the boundary you are trying to reach and the Chasers watching that route.
  2. Take a nearby Gem pickup when you can continue toward the boundary without running into a pursuer.
  3. Recover your route after the pickup. The objective is still the crossing; another small pickup is not useful if the detour converts you to the other side.

The guides describe more room for pickups when there are many Runners and fewer Chasers. That is a situation to read, not a fixed reward multiplier or a guarantee that every first crossing is safe. Runner decisions explain the route and team changes.

Finish the match for the separate reward

Both roles receive performance-based match rewards in the early guides. Pickups during the crossing are therefore not the whole earning route. Complete the match and read the result rather than assuming the resources you saw on the field are the final total.

As a Runner, progress through the crossings and help a downed teammate when there is a safe opportunity. As a Chaser, focus on registered catches and conversions. Learning both roles means you still have a useful task when the match assigns or converts you to the pursuing side.

No fixed Gems-per-catch, Gems-per-win or universal hourly earning rate is established by these records. A creator’s “fast” title does not make their session a normal yield for every server.

Measure Documented source What it is used for
Gems Arena pickups and match-performance rewards Permanent ability unlocks described in the shop guides
Coins / Gold Match-performance rewards in the guides Consumables such as Rescue Kit, Adrenaline and Banana Peel
XP / EXP Walkthroughs associate it with catches and wins Level progression; not an ability-purchase balance

Check the Gem balance when evaluating a Gem pickup or unlock price. A Coin total or a higher Level is not confirmation that you have enough Gems. Similarly, a lower Gem balance after buying an ability is spending, not evidence that the match failed to award XP.

To plan an unlock, compare your Gem balance with the price on the chosen ability card. The early guide’s 400-Gem Pocket Door and 1,000-Gem Cloak are dated examples; the ability reference explains their effects and price scope.

Choose what to spend on

A permanent ability and a one-use consumable solve different problems. Choose a role and effect before spending rather than buying the first card you can afford. The comparison page separates low-cost barriers, concealment and Chaser gap-closing tools.

The inspected ability capture also offers Robux unlock choices. That does not make Robux necessary for the documented Gem earning route. The official X2 EXP and VIP pass descriptions specify XP benefits, not a promised Gem multiplier; see the pass comparison before treating a paid boost as a currency farm.
